Profound sponsored a charity event at Bishop Auckland College, one of our learning partners, to support the College Students’ Hardship Fund and a local campaign, “Limbs for Lyndon”.
Lyndon Longhorne is an inspirational 14 year old teenager who was recently named The Northern Echo’s Local Hero of 2009 for overcoming his disabilities and becoming a national swimming champion. Lyndon was struck down with meningitis as a nine month old baby and doctors ordered the amputation of both legs and part of his right arm and fingertips from his left hand in order to save his life.
Lyndon’s mother was a student of the College at the time of his operation and the College has supported him from then onwards. Profound was very happy to contribute to such a worthy cause and the several staff who attended thoroughly enjoyed joining in this event.
